Casein protein

Casein is a protein that is slowly absorbed, and therefore perfect for before bed or at times of the day when you may go a prolonged period without food. Some products are marketed as night time protein, and contain a mixture of whey protein and casein protein, say a 20:80 ratio, so the body receives a slow release of amino acids over the course of the night.
